Bling peaking through the gray mist. Another elephant Sunday, and Bobby McNamara, is one of them. Today and only today, he must fight. And breath.

“Christ, where are my shoes?” said McNamara, looking ever the majestic knight. His chest seemed to breath in opposite rhythms. “I can’t believe they played from [1992 release] "Picture of Nectar,” McNamara explained excitedly as the flame on his head gave off a comforting heat. I think this McNamara kid slipped something in my drink.

McNamara works part time in Teddy’s Bait Shop in Poughkeepsie, but that night the last stop of the train ride misty mountain phantom blind but not blind. His usual Phish companion known simply as “Tony” wanted another tab, but explained how the ride was almost up, and sister Mary would come to rescue them. “Also, your mom thinks you’re at my place, dude—hey don’t put that out, there’s still some left.”

Wait. One of these lousy hippies definitely dosed me. How else could you explain the sky streaked with whiskey, like Jack fucking Keroac, but slithery like a fish. I need to concentrate. McNamara has been traveling with Phish for the good part of a year and explains his love for songs like ‘Scent of a Mule’ stems from his shit, did you hear that?

Poughkeepsie. Man. Poughkeepsie.

“What time is it? Oh shit. We got to get back,” McNamara said stretched out on a bed of 9 irons. Tony added, “Get back to the garden, man, like Stills and Nash but what about Tanya?” But neither had not seen Tanya Ochs, McNamara’s long time girlfriend, for the past nine hours.

“Shit, where’s Tanya?,” wondered McNamara. “I think she was with us at the Ihop, but all I remember is a lake, or something. Jesus Christ, stop taking notes and help us find her,” McNamara said fondly of his one true love.

“Wait, it’s starting to clear up. I think I’m coming down a little,” McNamara explained. Tony, who also works at the bait shop agrees, “Yeah that was a fucked up night, man. I can’t believe they played the entire White Album again. Where are we?”

Unaware of how or when they arrived at the Quiet Oaks Gold Club, McNamara and Tony spent the good part of an hour fishing their clothing from the water trap, and searching for Ms. Ochs who was later found in the sand trap.

McNamara and Ochs have been dating for three years, and plan to marry in an outdoor ceremony in the spring.

All and all, it was a great tour.
